The @United Nations has released the first external audit report led by the Court of accounts as part of its new mandate as external auditor of the UN.
The Board of Auditors' report focuses on peacekeeping operations. It contains 16 recommendations.
"This is the first time that an independent report has analyzed in such depth the risks faced by UN peacekeepers and personnel in @United Nations Peacekeeping operations. This report outlines ways in which these risks can be better managed to strengthen the resilience, effectiveness and efficiency of these operations, which are at the heart of the UN's mandate," said Pierre Moscovici on the occasion of the publication.
The report must now be debated and approved by the 5th Committee of the UN General Assembly.
Pierre Moscovici will travel to New York on April 27 and 28 as part of his mandate as external auditor to meet with UN officials, including @António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.
